My name is Kendra (a.k.a. Domestic Diva). I'm 26 and I'm a stay at home mom. My husband and I have 5 kids all together in our blended family, 4 of which live with us. We've got two teenagers (boy and a girl), a boy in pre school, and two little girls (2 years old and 9 months old.) We've got our hands full that's for sure! I used to think that I had to have control over everything in my life and have everything planned out in an orderly schedule. WHAT WAS I THINKING!?!?! Like many American families, mine was hit hard during this economic downfall and we had to rethink our family strategies. My husband lost his job as a truck driver and money was very tight. One thing that I really got in to was extreme couponing (which you will hear more about each week in my blog.) No I did not start because of the shows on TLC, although they are making it hugely popular. I started because I heard of a lady who was doing it to save her family money on groceries and how she used a system to track the sale patterns at the stores and to use coupons when an item goes on sale to ensure maximum savings.
I decided to give it a try and it was awesome! My first time wasn't even that much in savings but I still saved money, so I was excited to try it again and keep improving. Part of this blog will be dedicated to teaching and helping others learn the trick of successful couponing along with posts about great deals that I find. Please also keep in mind that I am in Spokane, Washington and so our deals will vary by location. However, my tips will help you wherever you live : )
I also have an online boutique which got started when I was pregnant with my second baby. I wanted to contribute an income to my family while staying at home with my kids, but doing something that I love to do. Well, I LOVE LOVE LOVE creating things! So I decided to start sewing and then sell my handmade creations in my boutique, Zoey's Closet. Another portion of this blog will be dedicated to sharing my creations and also teaching others how to make them for themselves.
